Jonathan Brent shares the story of the Edward Blank YIVO Vilna Online Collections project with the Federation for Jewish Philanthropy of Upper Fairfield County

In an unbelievable twist of fate, Yiddish experts—conscripted by Nazis to plunder materials of the Jewish culture they planned to obliterate—risked their lives to preserve important documents from the YIVO collection in Vilna (now Vilnius, Lithuania) which paint a revealing picture of Jewish life in prewar Europe and during the Shoah. This work continues to this day at YIVO with the preservation and digitization of these materials.

Join YIVO Institute for Jewish Research Executive Director and CEO Jonathan Brent in conversation with David Weisberg, CEO of the Federation for Jewish Philanthropy, to learn about the Edward Blank YIVO Vilna Online Collections project, as well as other important activities of YIVO today.
